NH-DOR Monthly Payment Plan

The New Hampshire Installment Payment Agreement web page isn’t very informative. Acceptance or denial is largely up to the DOR and it's evaluation of your ability to pay.

Here’s what we’ve found.

  • You may be asked to make a 20% down payment to get a monthly payment plan.
  • Expect to get between 6 to 24 months to pay back the taxes depending on the type of tax and your compliance history.

State of New Hampshire Offer in Compromise

The Offer in Compromise is available, but the rules of consideration and acceptance are vague.  The DOR calls it a Settlement Agreement Offer.  Use form CD-410 to get started.

Penalty Relief

The only way we’ve found to get penalties removed by the NH-DOR is if you have proof of written advice from the Department of Revenue which caused the penalty. This one is pretty clear.  Either you have the proof in the form of the written advice or you don’t.
