KS-DOR Monthly Payment Plan

Kansas Payment Plans need to be 6 months or less to avoid a tax warrant (tax lien). But, you may be able to get up to 24 months to pay back the taxes.

Sometimes the state will use a collection agency, Linebarger, Gogan & Blair, to collect back taxes.

Be prepared to provide financial information to secure your monthly payment plan or Petition for Abatement (PFA).

You may also be required to sign a Waiver of Confidentiality and Validation of Debt.

State of Kansas Offer in Compromise

The Kansas Offer in Compromise is called the Petition for Abatement (PFA).

Use Form CE-5 Petition for Abatement – Collectibility

The PFA has similar rules and guidelines to the IRS OIC.

  • Current compliance is necessary
  • Tax Warrant (tax lien) may be filed
  • Financial information and backup documents are required
  • 2 payment options
  • And more

Penalty Relief

Kansas charges some hefty collection fees for back tax debts. You may have a chance at getting some of the fees removed if you can pay the total balance due in less than 90 days.
